Applet Tag

It is recommended to deliver the HTML content with the applet tag via a web server. For security reasons a JavaScript interpreter will typically refuse to directly execute the HTML content from a file system. The applet tag might then read:

<applet
archive="interpreter.jar"
code="jekpro.platform.asterix.AsterixApplet"
width="600"
height="520">
Applet could not be loaded.
</applet>

The runtime of the transpiler might redirect the Java System.out and the Java System.err to the console of the JavaScript interpreter. This can be used for logging and debugging, the Web Browser might allow inspecting the JavaScript console.

The above configuration works with a HTML5/JavaScript browser such as chrome from google on desktop platform and with the CheerpJ applet runner extension. The applet runner is cur-rently not available outside the desktop or chrome browser.
